What is the Political Courage Test?

North Carolina Congressional Special Election, District 3, 2019 Political Courage Test

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I favor an immediate ban on third trimester abortions and have proposed the Birth Mother Adoption Tax Credit. It is my intention to seek the defunding of Planned Parenthood and to seek investigations into the criminal activities of Planned Parenthood.
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
No In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
I believe in cutting wasteful spending in any department but also believe that our military personnel need a major pay increase. I also favor the President's reforms of the Veteran's Administration to allow expanded choices for our veterans.
No Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
I would qualify this question by stating that under no circumstances should just corporate contributions be limited and not union contributions. While I do not favor limiting contributions at all, I believe that union members should have the right to opt out of having their dues used for political purposes.
Yes Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
I favor abolishing the corporate tax altogether.
No Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
I believe the federal role in education is already too large and I would end federal mandates on primary and secondary schools.
No Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
I will strongly oppose the job-killing Green New Deal.
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
I believe the Second Amendment right to bear arms applies to individuals and not just state militias. I do not favor any additional restrictions on gun ownership.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
Yes Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
Yes Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
I do not favor citizenship for illegal immigrants under any circumstances. I am open to the idea of work visas or green cards for those who have entered illegally only after our borders are secure but I will never support citizenship for those that have broken our laws to enter the country.
Yes Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
I believe that this is not a cut yes or no proposition. I favor removing the federal government from the situation altogether and favor removing marijuana from being a Schedule IV drug. At the same time I believe that there are many ill effects from legalization and states should not plunge headlong into legalization.
Yes Should the United States use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a nuclear weapon?
Yes Do you support increased American intervention in Middle Eastern conflicts beyond air support?
I believe that in some instances we need to deploy special forces to deal with terrorist elements in the Middle East. I also believe though that America is weary of war and I would not favor a major increased role for the United States beyond guaranteeing the safety of the Israeli state.
If elected I would support any effort to fund the border wall including the President's declaration of a National Emergency. In addition, I would favor an immediate ban on late term abortions as I believe our nation has reached consensus on this issue. And I would fight for the working class by seeking to repeal or block as many regulations on individual liberty and business activities as humanly possible.
